Lately we received an e-mail, which looked highly legitimate, telling us our e-mail Inbox had exceeded its limit and that in order to clear the Inbox, we needed to login to do so. The subject line read: "Dear Webmail User!!!" and it provided a link to click. We did NOT click it. Nor should you.
This was a Phishing attempt to try to get us to login to a stranger's site, and by doing so, offering them our e-mail address and password. Don't be fooled. You will not receive this type of e-mail from us. Delete it.
Phishing is described as : The act of sending email that falsely claims to be from a legitimate organization. This is usually combined with a threat or request for information: for example, that an account will close, a balance is due, or information is missing from an account. The email will ask the recipient to supply confidential information, such as bank account details, PINs or passwords; these details are then used by the owners of the website to conduct fraud.
